Background and previous experience
My post at Kingsley Special Academy as an Assistant Head Teacher was a fantastic role, I enjoyed leading the 66 place Nursery School in the SEN school and the 2 Foundation/KS1 classes of children with complex SEN and am on the SLG where I feel that my skills were put to good use. I had a huge impact on the Learning Environment, both indoors and out, data analysis and quality experiences as well as ensuring that early interventions for children with SEN are paramount.
My teaching career spans over 20 years - I have taught across all of the age ranges from birth to 11, in 2 large primary schools and a small village school, a Special School, and day nurseries. I have held the leadership and management role of deputy head, have lead the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage One, and have been a coordinator of SEN in two schools, have led Science, Literacy, Mathematics and Art and have also been a lead teacher for Science, involved in Science SATs moderation across East Sussex. I have been responsible for making challenging decisions for the good of all children.
I feel that I have an exemplary knowledge across all of the areas of EYFS learning and development, provision, quality and data analysis.
I have recently been successfully employed as a Senior Lecturer in Education at the University of Northampton; I was the Programme Leader for the BA Early Childhood Studies Honours Degree and led on a national pilot Early Years Professional Status (new Early Years Teacher)
My previous role was a strategic role for the LA where I was employed as an Advisor for the Early Years, which spanned the age range of 0-7 years; some work was setting based but the majority of my caseload was working with Teachers and Head Teachers in the Reception and KS 1 phase
The key aim of my post was to raise and maintain quality education and care for all young children across Northamptonshire, in settings and schools, ensuring that as a Local Authority we raised standards of achievement and rates of progression for all children through personalised learning experiences, with direct reference to the new Early Years Foundation Stage.
What I hope to offer through school to school support
I aim to offer advice, guidance and support through a friendly, approachable manner that ensures that good outcomes are achieved.

• Putting the WOW into the curriculum
• Supporting families and children with SEN in the Early Years
